Fundraising Gala

Need

To design a floral installation for the Women, Peace, and Solidarity gala, organized by Alliance for Solidarity – ActionAid, on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

The objective was to create an aesthetic and symbolic gesture that embodied the resilience, care, and hope of Palestinian women, translating these values into a contemporary and poetic floral composition.

Process

The work began with symbolic and material research into flowers, colors, and textures associated with resistance, loss, and life.

A central, sculptural installation was created, where the combination of roots, trunks, molucellas, sedum, and pomegranates engaged with the idea of destruction and rebirth.

The process was both technical and conceptual: an archaeology of beauty that interprets fragility as an aesthetic and moral force.

Result

The installation generated an emotional space of silence and contemplation at the gala, accompanying the fundraising efforts for the Women, Peace, and Security programs.

The result was an aesthetic and supportive experience that united art, diplomacy and activism from a place of sensitivity.

AofB proposes a beauty with a conscience: ethical, social, and relational. It offers a perspective that helps to question the established norms and power structures behind aesthetics. It explores how nature and humanity can meet in a dialogue of respect, subtlety, and truth. Our fundraising gala was a success; the installation helped everyone reflect on the gala's cause, and the donations were substantial.
